The Shoe Tree
This photo was taken on the campus of Murray State University. Erin and I both nailed a shoe to the "shoe tree" to follow tradition that if you meet at Murray State and get married you nail a shoe to the tree. Maybe our shoes will last as long as our marriage.
In Nashville, there was a good catfish restaurant named Uncle Bud's. They had a similar tradition where you would give them your cap and they would staple it to the ceiling, then give you an "Uncle Bud's" cap. They eventually had to shut down for health code violations, as it is not very sanitary having whatever is in people's hair dangling above what you eat. At least the shoe thing is outside.

That sounds like a neat tradition, except for the whole hair in your food thing.
